Oscillographic analysis shows that opening hemisyllables are usually absent and that the closing hemisyllables usually last about 40-90 ms, the second of each pair often being a little longer, and sometimes louder, than the first. The duration of each echeme is about 130-180 ms and the interval between two echemes is about 140-250 ms.
