The elytro-dorsoabdominal stridulatory-apparatus of three native Necrophorus species have been investigated more closely with the aid of thes the stereoscan.\n\n2. The course of the paired \u201cpartes stridentes\u201d on the 5th abdominal tergit is characteristic for each species.\n\n3. The paired plectrums are located on the back edge of the lower side of the elytrae and are protected against pollution by chitinous setae.\n\n4.
